India graphite electrode prices will increase by 20%

It was reported on June 16 that the price of UHP600 in the Indian graphite electrode market will rise from 290,000 rupees / ton to 340,000 rupees / ton, and the execution period is from July to September 21; the price of HP450mm electrodes is expected to rise from the current 225,000 rupees / ton rose to Rs 275,000/ton (22% increase).

The increase in the proportion of electric furnace steelmaking will drive the demand for scrap steel and graphite electrodes to increase significantly. In addition, the current production capacity of graphite electrodes should also be considered, because in the past few years, the production capacity of graphite electrodes has increased significantly. Under environmental protection policies such as carbon neutrality, some small and medium-sized enterprises will withdraw, and the industry structure is expected to be optimized.
